Review: 33rd round of "A League" © EuroFootball.com

On Wednesday, October 25, the 33rd round of matches will be played in the Lithuanian "A Lyga" league. Each team has 4-5 matches left to play.

Before this round, the LFF Cup final last Saturday somewhat changed the motivation of the teams to fight for higher positions in the "A Lyga". With "Sūduva" winning the final and securing their place in next year's UEFA Cup tournament, it was revealed that the team finishing in 3rd place will have to settle for the Intertoto Cup, while the 4th-placed team will only participate in the Baltic League. However, the battle for positions in the league table promises to be intense.

In Silute, the "Silute" and "Šiauliai" clubs, who have not been very successful recently, will meet. Despite "Šiauliai" occupying the 7th place and leading "Silute" by 29 points, their head-to-head matches have been quite evenly split with one win each and one draw.

In Kaunas, "Vėtra" will face off against "Atlantas". This match is crucial for "Vėtra" to keep their chances alive for the 2nd place in the league. "Atlantas" currently sits in 6th place and risks losing their chance to compete for the 4th place in the championship.

In Vilnius, "Vilnius" will play against Panevėžys' "Ekranas". Both teams have had mixed results ahead of this match, with slight injuries on both sides affecting their lineups.

In Marijampolė, the newly crowned LFF Cup winners "Sūduva" will host the bottom-ranked team "Nevėžis". In their three encounters this season, "Sūduva" has come out victorious in all of them.

A bit later in Vilnius, "Vėtra" will take on "Kaunas". These matches are crucial for both teams' positions in the league, with "Vėtra" fighting for the 2nd place and "Kaunas" looking to secure the top spot in the league.
