London and Czech national team goalkeeper Petr Cech left the hospital on Tuesday, where he was admitted after suffering a head injury during last Saturday's English championship match against Reading, and returned home.
"He is recovering rapidly and should start light training next week," Chelsea said in a statement released on Tuesday. "Normally, it takes three months to recover from such an injury and we hope that after that time he will be able to train at full strength."
P. Cech suffered the injury in the first minutes of the match against Reading on October 14, when visitors' goalkeeper Stephen Hunt collided with him in the penalty area.
Meanwhile, Chelsea's reserve goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini, who also collided with an opponent during the same match and was taken to the hospital unconscious, is likely to return to the field in Wednesday's League Cup match away to Blackburn.
