Former London "Chelsea" midfielder and current assistant coach Dennis Wise and his assistant Gustavo Poyet will try to help the once famous club's footballers climb out of crisis.

The team, which played in the UEFA Champions League semi-finals in 2000, is currently struggling in the second tier of England, in 23rd place. The Leeds footballers have lost their last four games, conceding a total of 15 goals.

The Englishman D. Wise and Uruguayan G. Poyet, who played together in London from 1997 to 2001, have been working together since the beginning of this season at the fourth division club "Swindon Town", which is currently in third position in their league.

However, this duo was tempted by an attractive offer from "Leeds" and will temporarily take over as head coach from the interim head coach John Carver. The latter took over from the dismissed Kevin Blackwell.

"Regarding the compensation amount, the two clubs have agreed to a deal in the near future," - said in a statement from "Leeds" club.

"After much consideration, we have unanimously decided to choose D. Wise and his assistant G. Poyet. I understand that he will not bring us trophies, but for now, it is not important to us," said club president Ken Bates, who has known both coaches since he was the owner of "Chelsea".

Along with D. Wise and G. Poyet, the goalkeeping coach Andrew Beasley from "Swindon" will also work at "Leeds".
