In the ongoing European Under 19 football championship in Spain, in the first group of the second qualification stage, on Thursday, the Lithuanian national team played a goalless draw against the tournament hosts Spain.

More than 1200 Spanish fans expected a victory for the favorites, but Lithuania held on and the match ended in a 0-0 draw. The biggest threat to the Lithuanian goal came in the 55th minute, when Joanas Tomas broke through the defense, attacked the goal freely, and hit the crossbar. Soon after, Lithuanian goalkeeper Šarūnas Kilijonas came to the rescue, and he was later voted the best player of the match.

Throughout the match, there was a fierce and intense battle. Although both teams had opportunities to score, neither team capitalized on them.

Spanish coach Armandas Ufarte was very disappointed with the result: "We didn't play well, and the Lithuanians caused us problems by playing a defensive, yet fair game."

Lithuanian coach Mindaugas Neoras was satisfied with his team's performance in the hot conditions: "We are not used to playing in such heat. We are very happy with the result and very proud of our players."

In the other group matches, Hungary beat the Netherlands 1-0. The latter will play against Spain tomorrow at 18:00, while our team will face Hungary at 21:00.
