In the tenth round of the Bundesliga, the league leaders "Werder" lost two points at home, unable to beat the championship newcomers "Cottbus". After this round, there are no more unbeaten teams - the previously unbeaten "Nurnberg" stumbled in the capital of Germany against the local team "Hertha".
In the match in Berlin, "Hertha" took the lead after playing for about half an hour - "Nurnberg" goalkeeper Raphael Schäfer came out of the goal to push the ball away, but shortly after, a great strike by M. Pantelic landed the ball in the net.
Shortly after the break, after a substitution, Ivica Banovic equalized the score with a header, but this did not save the visitors from failure - after twenty minutes, M. Pantelic scored his seventh goal in the Bundesliga and once again led his team forward after the "Nurnberg" goalkeeper failed to stop Christiano Gimenez's shot, leaving M. Pantelic to put the ball into the net.
The first loss pushed "Nurnberg" into ninth place, while "Hertha" managed to rise to third place on the table and reduce the gap from "Werder" to four points. This gap could have been even smaller if it weren't for a late goal by I. Klasnic, saving the "Werder" club from defeat against "Cottbus".
The Bremen team was forced to chase their opponents almost from the beginning of the second half - in the 49th minute, a great shot from 24 meters led the visitors ahead by F. Kioyo. However, "Werder" escaped a sensational failure - in the 75th minute, after a substitution, I. Klasnic headed Hugo Almeida's cross into the "Cottbus" goal, equalizing the score.
"Stuttgart" extended their successful series of matches and the "journey" to the top of the table, defeating "Aachen" club 4-2 as visitors. Increasing their unbeaten record to seven, Stuttgart's footballers rose to second place in the league. However, the "Bayern" and "Schalke" clubs, playing their fixture on Sunday, still have the chance to overtake "Stuttgart".
The "Hamburger" team experienced another failure this season, this time failing away against "Wolfsburg". Like in the previous round, the victory for the "Wolfsburg" team was guaranteed by the only goal from M. Hanke in the 18th minute, when the German headed Jacek Krzynowek's cross into the net. Interestingly, this duo also created a goal in the previous round against "Bochum". The three points allowed "Wolfsburg" to rise to tenth place.
