In the early matches of the day, the mid-table team "Fulham" faced the tough nut to crack, "Everton" at Craven Cottage. In the first half, the visitors from Liverpool had complete control. In the 12th minute, one of the most prolific scorers in the Premier League, Andrew Johnson, missed a great opportunity as his powerful shot was saved by "Fulham" goalkeeper Antti Niemi.

Just three minutes later, the home defender Ian Pearce brought down the same A. Johnson in the penalty area, but the referee ignored the incident and did not award a penalty kick. In the 37th minute, A. Johnson wasted another chance after a pass from Tim Cahill. At the end of the first half, "Fulham" striker Brian McBride's shot was saved by the "Everton" goalkeeper Tim Howard.

In the second half, "Fulham" managed to finally beat T. Howard. In the 65th minute, recently returned to the lineup after a serious injury, Claus Jensen deceived T. Cahill and struck the ball from about 18 yards, and the ball changed direction after hitting Lee Carsley's shin guard and went into the net.

After conceding the goal, the David Moyes-led team tried to save the game. James Beattie was brought on, but his shot went wide. At the end of the match, "Fulham" goalkeeper A. Niemi protected his goal from A. Johnson's shot. After this victory, "Fulham" rose to 8th place, while "Everton" managed to retain 6th position.
