On Saturday, seven matches of the 11th round of the English Premier League took place. "Fulham" achieved an unexpected victory, "Wigan" defeated "Bolton", "Man Utd" crushed "Portsmouth", "Liverpool" beat "Reading", "Newcastle" lost to "Sheffield United", and "Watford" and "Charlton" secured their first and second wins respectively.
In the early matches of the day, the mid-table team "Fulham" faced the tough nut to crack, "Everton" at Craven Cottage. In the first half, the visitors from Liverpool had complete control. In the 12th minute, one of the most prolific scorers in the Premier League, Andrew Johnson, missed a great opportunity as his powerful shot was saved by "Fulham" goalkeeper Antti Niemi.
Just three minutes later, the home defender Ian Pearce brought down the same A. Johnson in the penalty area, but the referee ignored the incident and did not award a penalty kick.
