D.Miceika - third in terms of productivity in Latvia © EuroFootball.com

The goalkeeper of the Lithuanian national team finished the season in Latvia as productively as he started - the legionnaire contributed with two goals to the stunning victory of Liepaja's "Metalurgs" away against the "Riga" team and remained in third place in the list of most productive players in "Virsliga". The last round of the Latvian championship was practically meaningless, as all three league winners and two outsiders were already determined, and changes in the battle for 4-6 places could only happen theoretically. Despite this, coached by Benjamin Zelkevicius, "Metalurgs" did not spare their opponents and crushed them 5-0, with D.Miceika scoring two goals in the 3rd and 42nd minutes of the first half. Since the main competitors of the Lithuanian in the list of top scorers, team mates Kristapas Grebis and Jurgis Kalnas from "Jurmala" did not stand out, and only the 14th season goal was scored by "Metalurgs" striker Girtas Karlsonas, with 13 accurate shots, goalkeeper D.Miceika took the third place in the snipers classification. Together with D.Miceika, Arturas Rimkevicius played in the winning team, who, as announced by B.Zelkevicius, will most likely leave the club after the season with another player from "Kaunas" Vadim Petrenko, while Tomas Tamosauskas, Mindaugas Kalonas and, according to "Metalurgs" coach, candidate to return to Lithuania, Nerijus Astrauskas, was not registered for the match. Already securing the champion's title, "Ventspils" with Deimantas Bicka playing from the 76th minute, ended the productive match with Daugavpils, which remained in fourth position, "Dinaburg", by a score of 3-3, securing fifth place with bronze medalist Riga's "Skonto" playing 2-2 against Daugavpils "Ditton", and sixth remained "Jurmala" without Gintaras Stauchas, who defeated the outsider Rezekne's "Dizvanagi" 3-1.
