Before this season, Vilnius' "Vėtra" club was joined by two legionnaires from Macedonia - Dejan Milošeskis and Bob Božinovski. 23-year-old D.Milošeskis became one of the team leaders and a favorite of "Vėtra" fans, and also, as he admitted in an interview on the official club website, attracted the attention of his country's national team coach.

Birthdate: 1982-12-27, Skopje (Macedonia) Career: "Vardar" (Macedonia) "Cementarnica" (Macedonia) "Kassandria" (Greece) "Paniliakos" (Greece) "Ptolemaida" (Greece) "Cementarnica" (Macedonia) Vilnius "Vėtra" (Lithuania)

One of Dejan's most popular features is his resilience. Regardless of the result on the scoreboard, the defender fights for every ball, for every inch of the field. D.Milošeskis also stands out for his dangerous penalty shots and goals. In the "A Lyga" this season, the Macedonian scored 4 goals and is third in terms of performance within "Vėtra".

The official "Vėtra" website decided to have a conversation with the legionnaire.

- Why did you decide to become a footballer, didn't other sports attract you?

- In Macedonia, football is the most popular sport, and my decision was greatly influenced by the fact that my father was a professional footballer. He played for Skopje's "Vardar" in the former Yugoslav Championship. My first steps as a footballer also took place at the "Vardar" club. I started playing football when I was eight and went through all the stages of the "Vardar" football school, signing my first contract as a professional footballer with this club when I was 16.

- You began your career as a legionnaire very quickly, why?

- When I was very young, I went to play in Greece. If it wasn't for my young age, I might still be playing in Greece. However, there were certain problems there. The Greeks do not recognize independent Macedonia, which caused problems for me obtaining a visa and couldn't go back to my homeland, to my parents and relatives as often as I wanted. Therefore, after four years of playing in Greece, I returned to my homeland.

- Were you surprised by the invitation to continue your career in Lithuania?

- At first, I was surprised. The "Cementarnica" coach said that "Vėtra" was inviting me. I immediately went to the internet. The first thing I noticed was that "Vėtra" has a great stadium. Later, together with Bob, we came to the "Vėtra" camp in Cyprus and now I am very happy to be playing for this team.

- What did you know about our country before coming to Lithuania?

- While still in school, I knew that your country was occupied and that you bravely fought for your independence. I admired Lithuania because my homeland Macedonia also sought to break away from Yugoslavia. Friends who had visited Lithuania provided more information about your country. They really liked it here, only they were scared that winters in Lithuania are very cold.

- You live in Vilnius without your family, do you miss them a lot?

- I miss my family incredibly, and whenever there is even a small opportunity, I rush to Greece, where my family currently lives. I met my Greek wife Nikoleta when I was playing in Greece. She understands that I am currently a professional footballer and cannot be with her and our recently born daughter. The child is too young to travel to Vilnius. If I stay with "Vėtra" next season, the family will definitely come to Lithuania, and we will all be together.

- How long does your contract with "Vėtra" last, would you like to stay in Lithuania for a longer period of time?

- We signed a contract for one year, with the option to extend it for another year. At the end of the season, we will decide on extending the contract. I would like to stay in Lithuania, I like Vilnius and "Vėtra". I really want to become the Lithuanian champion with "Vėtra" next year.

- How do you assess your chances of getting into the Macedonian national team?

- While playing for the "Cementarnica" club, I was invited several times to the friendly national team matches. This season, the Macedonian national team coach, Srečko Katanec, called me, asked about my form, whether I play in the main "Vėtra" lineup, and requested to send videos of "Vėtra" matches. I hope to receive an invitation. Representing the Macedonian national team would be the realization of my dreams.
