As the football season comes to an end, construction workers have taken over the Šiauliai stadium, where their home matches are played. By the start of next year's season, permanent toilets will be built on both sides of the main stand, two ticket offices will be set up at the stadium entrances, more comfortable places for the disabled will be installed on the other side of the field, and a canopy will cover the main stand from rain and snow.

During the winter, the foundations for lighting poles are also planned to be laid, but the actual artificial lighting will probably have to wait another year. Later, the stadium fence will be reconstructed, the facade will be renovated, and a scoreboard will be installed.

The reconstruction of the stadium is estimated to cost 4.4 million litas. The works are organized in 4 stages (only the works of the I stage are fully completed). In 2005, work worth more than 1 million litas was completed, and this year it is planned to absorb a similar amount. The works did not start earlier because they waited for the end of the football season so that the construction workers would not disturb the footballers and spectators, and winter should not hinder the work. All funds were allocated from the city budget by the Šiauliai municipality.
