The young star right-back Jesus Navas suffered a knee injury during the King's Cup match on Wednesday and will be out for up to eight weeks. "Navas has torn his left knee meniscus and it seems that his previous cruciate ligament injury has resurfaced," the club announced on its website.
The player will undergo exploratory surgery in the near future to determine the true extent of the injury, but medical professionals predict that he will be unable to play for six to eight weeks.
The twenty-year-old attacking right-back started the season in fantastic form and was one of the leaders of the team, currently leading the Spanish league.
J. Navas is likely to miss three "Sevilla" matches in the UEFA Europa League: against "Braga," Zurich's "Grasshoppers," and Alkmaar's "AZ". The current cup holders in Group C have one point after one match and are in third place.
