On Saturday, two matches of the tenth round were played in Spain. Madrid's "Atletico" won a convincing victory at home, beating "Villarreal" 3-1, while the match between "Valencia" and Bilbao "Athletic" ended in a surprising draw.

In the matches that took place in Madrid, the guests took the lead first when after a defensive mistake by Juano Romano Riquelme, defender Fabrizio Fuentes directed a penalty kick into the goal with his head.

However, towards the end of the first half, center-back Ze Castro equalized the score with a header, and already in added time of the first half, Fernando Torres was brought down in the penalty area by Pascal Cygano and the forward successfully converted the penalty kick awarded by the referee.

The young Argentine talent secured "Atletico" victory in the middle of the second half, when he scored from about 15 meters, while "Villarreal" ended the match with ten men when former "Atletico" forward Jose Mari was sent off the field for a foul on Giourkas Seitaridis.

Forward Fernando Llorente's header at the very end of the match broke "Valencia's" perfect winning streak at the "Mestalla" stadium and dealt a heavy blow to the team in the fight for the top spot.
