Head coach Sir Alex Ferguson says, in his opinion, England's national team and "Red Devils" defender Gary Neville will miss next week's friendly match with the Netherlands due to the ankle injury he suffered on Saturday.
In Saturday's Premier League 12th round matches, which ended with a 1-0 victory against Blackburn, the 31-year-old player was replaced after halftime by Irishman John O'Shea.
"Due to the injured ankle, he will be out for a few weeks," Sky Sports quoted Sir Alex Ferguson as saying. "To shorten the recovery time, we are already trying to get him back to training and alleviate the pain he is suffering in the ankle."
"But, unfortunately for us, it happened again today (on Saturday), so I don't think he will be completely healthy for the match against the Netherlands on Wednesday," the coach said.
Neville's absence in Amsterdam could provide a great opportunity for Manchester City defender Micah Richards to debut in the England national team jersey.
