The defender of the Lithuanian national team has decided to link his future with - the second strongest club in Italy's Serie B division officially announced the extension of the contract with the Lithuanian until 2011.
"Brescia", currently occupying 12th place in Serie B and demonstrating poor performance lately, announced the extension of the contract with M.Stankevičius and his teammate Luis Alfageme on their website last Friday, before the important match against the "Mantova" club.
However, "Brescia", ending the second consecutive game without goals last week, had to settle for a draw, meaning that the club only won once in the last seven league matches.
25-year-old defender who can play in defensive and midfield positions, M.Stankevičius, was surrounded by speculation in the summer - the player was linked with a possible move to "Torino", "Livorno", Leverkuzen's "Bayer", Donetsk's "Shakhtar", Rome's "Lazio" and even the long-standing Italian champion Turin's "Juventus", but "Brescia" decided to retain the Lithuanian for at least another season.
