Occupying the bottom spot in the English Championship on Monday parted ways with head coach Iain Dowie. It is not yet reported whether the coach left the team himself or was fired.
I. Dowie took over at the helm of "Charlton" at the end of May, replacing long-time manager Alan Curbishley, but his position as head coach was not secure, as the club only earned 8 points in 12 matches and occupied the twentieth spot in the league table.
The coach's fate was likely determined by Sunday's 3-2 defeat to "Wigan" on the road.
Former "Crystal Palace" manager I. Dowie became the first coach of a "Premier" league team to lose his position this season.
It is reported that candidates for the vacant position include "Derby" coach Billy Davies, "Cardiff" manager Dave Jones, and former England national team coach Glenn Hoddle. Former "Charlton" manager A. Curbishley has stated he has no intention of returning to the club.
