The new coach of the London team is Les Reed. Former football player Mark Robson has been appointed as his assistant.
L. Reed will replace Ian Dowie, who was fired on Monday. Under Dowie's leadership, the "Charlton" club has only collected 8 points in 12 matches in the Premier League and is currently in last place, 20th. Dowie took over from Alan Curbishley, who led the "Charlton" club for 15 years.
Les Reed has been working in the "Charlton" coaching staff since 1995 and has also worked as the technical director of the English Football Association.
"We hope that Les Reed and Mark Robson will help the team recover and move up. We may also look for a third person to help them. Fans should understand us. It will take us a lot of time for the team to recover. Management will not make hasty decisions," said the team's managing director Peter Varney.
"Charlton" will play their next Premier League match against "Reading" away on Saturday.
