England national team coach Steve McClaren will bravely trust in youth in the friendly match against the Netherlands in Amsterdam on Wednesday. S. McClaren will start 18-year-old right-back Micah Richards. This will be the debut in the England national team for the young player who belongs to Manchester City.
"Micah is an interesting, new type of player. He is tall, strong, athletic, very fast, and has a fantastic leap. I think he will fit well into the match and will not be afraid of the opponents' attackers," praised S. McClaren the young defender.
M. Richards will take Gary Neville's place on the field, who suffered a calf injury in Manchester United's match against Blackburn last weekend.
S. McClaren also revealed that the attacking duo together with Wayne Rooney will be formed by the rising star of Everton, Andy Johnson, who will play for the national team only for the fifth time.
In the match against the Netherlands, midfielder Joe Cole, who hasn't represented the England national team since the World Cup due to injuries, will also play.
