In January, when the transfer window opens, Madrid's "Real" will be enriched by Brazilian club "Fluminense" left-back Marcelo (Marcelo Vieira da Silva Junior). The transfer fee is 6.75 million euros.

The contract with the Brazilian is signed until 2012, and during the second part of this season from January he will spend time in "Real's" youth team.

"This is a very significant contract for us. Marcelo is a young player who brings freshness to our team. Our policy is to include young players in the main lineup," said "Real" president Ramon Calderon.

Marcelo is set to take the place on the field of another Brazilian left-back, 33-year-old Roberto Carlos.

"R. Carlos is very pleased that Marcelo will take his place on the field," said R. Calderon.

The 18-year-old defender has already made his debut for the Brazilian national team in September and immediately managed to score a goal against Wales in a friendly match.

Marcelo will become the 18th Brazilian player in the history of Madrid's "Real" and the sixth in the current team after Roberto Carlos, Ronaldo, Robinho, Cicinho, and Emerson.
