Early on in the Charlton vs. Everton match, both teams had their chances but no goals were scored in the first half. Everton took the lead in the second half with a penalty converted by Arteta, but Charlton equalized thanks to Reid. They had opportunities to win the game but couldn't convert. Everton remains in 8th place while Charlton struggles.
In another game, West Ham defeated Sheffield United with a first-half goal from Mullins, moving them up the table. Aston Villa and Middlesbrough played to a draw. Liverpool secured a narrow win over Man City with Gerrard's goal. Reading defeated Fulham with a penalty, and Bolton emerged victorious against Arsenal.
After these results, Middlesbrough moved up to 13th place, West Ham climbed to 16th, while Aston Villa reached 5th place. Reading now occupies the 7th position, and Bolton rose to 3rd place, while Arsenal fell to 6th.
