On Friday and Saturday, four matches of the 14th round of the Dutch "Eredevisie" championship took place, in which all the favorites playing at home secured victories. In the only match on Friday, Enschede's "Twente" team defeated Arnhem's "Vitesse" 2-0 and climbed to fourth place in the standings, at least temporarily surpassing Rotterdam's "Feyenoord", which plays today. The "Twente" team took the lead in the 34th minute with a precise strike by Kennedy Bakircioglu. The second half saw an open game, with both teams having chances. "Twente" secured victory with a goal scored by Blaise N`Kufo at the end of the match. Meanwhile, Saturday's matches were marked by a real storm of goals. The country's champions Eindhoven's "PSV" strengthened their position at the top with a 5-0 victory over "Utrecht" at home. The visitors conceded a goal early in the match. Ibrahim Afellay and Jefferson Farfan scored before halftime, while Arouna Kone and the same J.Farfan finished off the visitors in the second half. In the other matches, Tilburg's "Willem II" defeated Waalwijk's "RKC" 3-1 and climbed to 14th place. Both teams finished the match with ten players. "PWillem" opened the scoring with two quick goals in the 5th and 25th minutes. However, "Willem" was reduced to ten players for the remainder of the match - forward Iwan Redan was shown a straight red card. When it seemed that "RKC" could try to equalize the score with their numerical advantage, the situation was complicated by team defender Virgilio Teixeira, who also had to leave the field after receiving a second yellow card. "RKC" managed to reduce the deficit, scoring in the 68th minute through Hansas van de Haaras. However, Tilburg secured victory with a goal from Frank van der Struijk in the final minute. Rotterdam's "Excelsior" secured a crushing victory, defeating Almelo's "Heracles" 6-1. "Heracles" took the lead with a goal from Ramos da Silva Everton, but "Excelsior" turned the score around before halftime with goals from Jara Simar and Jos van Nieuwstadt. J.Simr scored again, and the visitors were crushed by Sebastiaan Steur, Andwele Slory, and Guilliano Grot.
