The young full-back of an Italian club fell out of training for two months due to an injury.
The 22-year-old player was preparing for his team's match against Genoa's Sampdoria in training when he tore a ligament in his knee. However, an X-ray confirmed that the player would not need surgery.
The full-back had recently managed to establish himself in head coach Luciano Spalletti's team and helped the Italian under-21 national team qualify for the 2007 European Championship finals.
This injury to the player caused a major headache for L. Spalletti, as A. Aquillani has been showing a truly amazing form this season.
So far, this young attacking full-back, wearing Roma's jersey, has scored 3 goals in 53 matches.
