Birmingham club lost their main goalkeeper from Denmark, Thomas Sorensen, for three weeks. Last weekend, in the Premier League match against Middlesbrough (1-1), Dane Thomas injured his ligaments while facing rival Emanuel Pogatetz. The rehabilitation period will last about three weeks.
Aston Villa coach Martin O'Neill said, "Thomas' injury is not very serious, but we still cannot accurately say when he will return to the field. It should be in 2-3 weeks. Tests have shown that the meniscus is also damaged."
In 5th place in the Premier League, Aston Villa's goal will be guarded by backup goalkeeper Stuart Taylor in the upcoming matches against Manchester City.
