Portugal's national team right back Miguel has become another setback in the already injury-plagued team. The strong defender strained the muscles of his left thigh during training and will not be able to play for up to three weeks due to this injury.
Miguel will have to miss the last UEFA Champions League group stage match against AS Roma next week, but this match will not have any significance as Valencia has already secured the first place in the group.
The Portuguese national team member joins the growing list of injured Valencia players, which includes forwards David Villa and Fernando Morientes, midfielders Edu and Jaime Gavilanas, and defenders Emiliano Moretti, Asier del Horno, and Carlos Marchena.
Spanish national team defender David Albelda, who strained his cruciate ligaments last month, is expected to return to the field in two weeks.
Valencia, which started the season strongly, has recently disappointed their fans with poor results and currently occupies only eighth place in the Spanish league.
