On Friday and Saturday, in the Eredivisie championship of the Netherlands, five matches of the 15th round were played. Strangely enough, this round was characterized by rare accuracy. "RKC" defeated "Sparta", "PSV" won against "Vitesse" with a minimal result, "NEC" convincingly defeated "Den Haag", "Heracles" played a draw with "Roda", and in the match between "NAC" and "Twente" there were no goals scored.
On Friday evening, one of the championship's underdogs met. Waalwijk's "RKC" and Rotterdam's "Sparta". The spectators had to wait almost the entire first half for a goal, when finally "RKC" striker Pius Ikedia's shot changed the result on the scoreboard. But soon after, the equalizing goal came. Jeffrey Vuglas defeated the home team's goalkeeper. It seemed like the match would end like that, but with five minutes left until the end of the game, Dustley Mulder gave the hosts the victory.
After this victory, "RKC" occupies the penultimate position, while "Sparta" moves to 16th place.
On Saturday, the championship leader PSV Eindhoven visited Arnhem to face Vitesse. The defending champions "PSV" won a modest but important victory, thanks to a goal scored by Edison Mendez in the 22nd minute. The team remains the leader, while "Vitesse" sits in 14th place with one game less played.
In another match, the absolute underdog of the championship, Den Haag, clashed with NEC Nijmegen. The goals in this match poured in only in the second half. In the 47th minute, Andrzej Niedzielan put NEC ahead, and after twenty minutes, Ferne Snoyle secured the victory for the visitors. After this win, NEC is in ninth place, while Den Haag continues to sit at the bottom with 8 points.
In another match, Heracles met Roda. The visitors took the lead in the 29th minute, when Jan Paul Saeijs scored a goal. Near the end of the match, with less than half an hour to play, the home team equalized the result. This was done by Ramos da Silva Everton. After these draw results, Heracles is in 13th place, while Roda moves to eighth.
In the match between NAC Breda and Twente Enschede, no goals were scored. Only the visitors had to play with a man down from the 28th minute, when Ramon Zomer was sent off for his second yellow card. Twente remains in 4th place, while NAC occupies the 12th position.
