In the only match of the Scottish Premier League on Sunday, the championship leader Glasgow Celtic met the absolute underdog Dunfermline. Celebrating their fifteenth victory of the season after a tough battle, the visitors Celtic maintained a sixteen-point advantage over their pursuers.
1 - 2
49' [0 - 1] Aiden McGeady
68' [0 - 2] Maciej Zurawski
90' [1 - 2] Stephen Simmons
In a match played in difficult weather conditions, Celtic struggled to break through the opponents' defense, and although guest striker Kenny Miller managed to do so in the 30th minute, his goal was disallowed for a questionable offside. Later, K. Miller's and young Celtic defender Darren O'Dea's shots were saved by Dunfermline goalkeeper Mark De Vries, so the score remained "dry" after the first half.
However, in the second half, after playing four minutes, one of the most active players of the match, Celtic's winger Aiden McGeady, received a pass from K. Miller and with a precise shot, put the visitors ahead. Later, Maciej Zurawski failed to double his team's lead, but the Polish striker corrected his mistake in the 68th minute and stopped the ball in the penalty area to score a second goal.
At the end of the match, Dunfermline scored a consolation goal after a mistake by Bobo Balde, through Stephen Simmons, while Celtic players Neil Lennon and A. McGeady clashed, but the Glasgow team still secured another victory and maintained a 16-point advantage ahead of the round.
