Happy news for the fans of the legendary goalkeeper Fabien Barthez - the Frenchman, who announced his retirement in October, has decided to play again and will sign a contract with Nantes until the end of the season.
"Nantes" currently has only 13 points in the French championship after 17 matches, occupying the second to last, 19th place. Dissatisfied with the performance of the Serbian goalkeeper Vladimiro Stojkovič, the club's officials have decided to bring in the legendary Frenchman to help.
35-year-old F.Barthez has represented clubs such as "Toulouse", "Marseille", "Monaco", and "Man Utd" throughout his career. In 1993, he won the Champions League with "Marseille". The eccentric goalkeeper represented the French national team 87 times, becoming a world champion in 1998, a European champion in 2000, and falling short in the World Cup final this year.
Fabien Barthez's return is expected to take place on December 23 in a match against "Toulouse", the very club where he began his career.
