On Sunday evening, two more matches of the 17th round took place, which concluded the first part of the season. At the end of the match, Bremen's "Werder" managed to defeat the "Wolfsburg" team and, in terms of points, caught up with the "Schalke" club. Therefore, after the winter break, we can expect a fierce battle for the title - the league champions, "Bayern", are only three points behind the leaders "Werder" and "Schalke", while the "Stuttgart" team is four points behind.

The position of "Werder" could have been slightly weaker if not for the late goal by Naldo in Sunday's match against "Wolfsburg". Bremen's club took the lead after a precise shot by D. Jensen, but before the break, taking advantage of the opponents' insecure play after a corner, I. Boakye equalized the score. Nevertheless, "Werder" managed to snatch the victory, and in the 86th minute, the defender Naldo scored a free-kick goal from 24 meters.

In the other match of the evening, the victory was celebrated by the visitors from Leverkusen in the match between "Borussia" and "Bayer" in Dortmund. This failure cost Bert van Marwijk his position as the coach of "Borussia". The Dutchman had been coaching the Dortmund team for more than two years.
