The Swedish national team and London side defender Freddie Ljungberg will not be able to help his team until New Year, as he suffered a hamstring injury in the 18th round match against "Portsmouth" in the English Premier League over the weekend.
The Swede played just five minutes in the 2-2 draw before suffering an injury from an unsuccessful attempt to take the ball away and was forced to leave the field, replaced by the rising young English star Theo Walcott.
"The player injured his hamstring," confirmed the team's manager Arsene Wenger on the club's official website. "He will miss the matches over Christmas."
The 29-year-old player will miss the home game against "Blackburn", as well as away matches against newly promoted teams "Watford" and "Sheffield United". Additionally, Ljungberg will not play in the English League Cup quarterfinals against "Liverpool" on Tuesday.
The defender further extends the team's list of injured players - already including French national team striker and "Arsenal" captain Thierry Henry, who will also be joining the team after New Year for the same reason. Earlier, T. Henry's compatriot defender William Gallas and Czech national team midfielder Tomas Rosicky were also unable to play.
Arsenal currently have 30 points after 18 rounds and are in 4th place, trailing leaders "Man Utd" by a staggering 14 points.
