Round 16: "Valencia" gains momentum © EuroFootball.com

On Tuesday, two matches of the 16th round were played in the Spanish championship. In one of them, "Valencia", who is regaining form, won a convincing victory against "Mallorca" at home 3-1, while the other match ended with a somewhat unexpected result - recently changed coach and having won two consecutive games, "Athletic Bilbao" played a goalless draw against "Zaragoza", who are currently in fifth place.

The match in Bilbao was intense, with both teams having the chance to win, but neither managed to score and had to settle for a goalless draw. "Zaragoza" has won only one of their last five matches.

Meanwhile, in Valencia, the hosts completely dominated the match after recovering from an injury crisis, securing their third consecutive victory. At the end of the first half, Spain's forward David Villa made a successful pass to the national team's defender Vicente. In the middle of the second half, Vicente returned the favor to his teammate, providing an assist.

With less than ten minutes left in the match, Miguel Angel Angulo, a hero for "Zaragoza", made an accurate pass from the corner, and after appearing on the field as a substitute, Fernando Morientes directed the ball into the goal with a header.

Only a mistake by Raul Albiol in the penalty area allowed "Mallorca" to earn an eleven-meter penalty and thus slightly soften the result.
