The leader of the English Premier League has extended his contract with French striker Louis Saha until 2010.
The 28-year-old L. Saha arrived at Old Trafford in the summer of 2004 from Fulham for a fee of 12.8 million pounds sterling. During the first two years, the striker suffered many injuries, but last season he finally recovered and began to demonstrate excellent form.
"I am happy to be here. I want to show my dedication to Man Utd and thank them for the trust they have shown in me," said L. Saha, who has scored 12 goals this season.
Manchester team manager Sir Alex Ferguson also expressed his joy about the contract extension: "I am very pleased that we were able to extend the contract with Louis. His form is fantastic at the moment. Since recovering from injury, L. Saha has scored 26 goals."
Man Utd has long-term contracts with two other attacking leaders – Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo.
