Ukrainian national team and Kiev "Dynamo" club defender Andrei Nescmahniy is trying to establish himself in the team and is participating in trial training sessions.
The 27-year-old footballer, who played in all the matches of his native country's team in the summer's World Cup held in England, should spend a few more days in England, after which his fate will be revealed.
"I know this defender, as I had to face him in international competitions and he left a good impression on me," said Blackburn's head coach Mark Hughes.
"A. Nesmachniy can play on the flank, possesses intelligent play and is experienced, as he has represented the Ukrainian national team more than 60 times."
Despite all these praises, M. Hughes could not guarantee that the Ukrainian will stay in Blackburn for a longer period.
"We were informed that he could come and train for a few days. We took advantage of this opportunity and will observe the Ukrainian. It's always better to do this live rather than settle for video recordings."
A. Nesmachniy's arrival is linked to the fact that already this January, when the transfer window opens, Blackburn could lose the highly-rated defender Lucas Neill. His services are particularly in demand.
