On Friday, the club leading the Spanish "Primera" league announced that Brazilian right-back Daniel Alves has agreed to extend his contract for another year and has committed to stay with the team until 2012.
"This agreement proves that both parties are very satisfied with each other and the player feels valued and recognized by the club," said "Sevilla" sports director Monchi Rodriguez officially to the club's website.
At the moment, the player's buyout clause remains unchanged and is set at 60 million euros.
The 23-year-old defender was linked to a move to "Barcelona" and "Liverpool" clubs this summer. In 2003, the Brazilian won the World Championship with his country's youth team.
The talented player joined "Sevilla" in 2002 after moving from the "Bahia" team and played a key role in the team last season, which won the UEFA Cup Tournament and is currently in first place in the Spanish league, three points ahead of defending champions "Barcelona" club.
