"The coach Joaquin Caparros, who secured a place in next year's UEFA Cup, claims that the club does not intend to sell the team's forward Julio Baptista.
Baptista, who plays for the Brazilian national team, arrived in Seville last summer and has firmly established himself in the club, scoring 20 goals this season and becoming the team's top scorer.
Such an impressive performance by the 22-year-old Brazilian quickly caught the attention of scouts from Real Madrid and Barcelona. Baptista's teammate in the Brazilian national team, Real Madrid forward Ronaldo, recently officially stated that Baptista would be a great fit for the Madrid club known as "Los Galacticos."
"They (club officials) assured me that Julio will stay in the team next year," said the Sevilla coach. "We plan to strengthen the team in the summer - we will acquire several defensive and winger players, about five or six players in total. The exact number will depend on how many players will leave the club in the summer."
