Former Portugal national team defender Luis Figo is ready to join Saudi Arabia's "Al Ittihad" club.
According to information on the club's website, the Portuguese press reported on Wednesday that the 34-year-old former Milan captain should leave the team and sign a one-year contract worth 4.5 million with the "Al Ittihad" team. The footballer would move to the Saudi Arabian club on January 5.
L. Figo only got a chance to play for Milan at the beginning of the season, and despite his contract with Inter club valid until the end of the season, the player still wants to leave the team.
The Portuguese retired from the national team after this year's World Cup semifinal loss to France, but he stated that he wants to participate in club football for another season or two.
Prior to that, L. Figo represented Lisbon's "Sporting" from 1989 to 1995, the "Barcelona" team from 1995 to 2000, before moving to Milan's "Inter" from 2000 to 2005, playing for the royal Madrid club "Real".
