Saint Petersburg and Russian national team striker Alexander Kerzhakov is moving to Spain and has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with the club.
Zenit announced that they have signed a long-term cooperation agreement worth 15 million euros with the current UEFA Cup holders.
"I think this is one of the biggest deals in the history of Russian football," said Zenit's sports director Konstantin Sarsania. "It consists of many things and Kerzhakov's transfer is just one of them."
Reports have appeared in the media that the 24-year-old Russian national team striker moved to Seville for around 5 million euros.
Two years ago, A. Kerzhakov, who became the top scorer of the Russian Premier League, lost his place in Zenit's starting lineup when Dutchman Dick Advocaat took over as the club's coach in July.
Saint Petersburg's club, supported by Russian energy giant Gazprom, has already acquired Argentine striker Alejandro Dominguez and Russian national team striker Pavel Pogrebnyak after the recently concluded Russian championship season. Both players have signed three-year contracts.
