After New Year, the outsider of the Spanish "La Liga", San Sebastian, will be reinforced by the Argentine defender Victor Lopez. The defender has so far represented the Argentine club "Arsenal de Sarandi", for which the Basques are expected to pay about 450 thousand euros for the footballer.
V. Lopez is expected to arrive in San Sebastian on January 1, perform a regular medical check-up on the same day, and sign a contract until 2009. The leaders of "Real Sociedad" hope that the new defender will help the team rise from the bottom of "La Liga" - the team with 10 points after 16 matches is currently in 19th place.
Victor Lopez, who will be the first winter acquisition of this Basque club, does not have a passport of a European Union country and will occupy one of the three places in the team reserved for non-EU citizens.
The coach of "Real Sociedad", Miguel Angel Lotina, who is determined to climb from the bottom of the Spanish league table, has confirmed that in January they will also actively seek two attacking players, as the team has only scored 10 goals in 16 matches in the Spanish league.
