Multiple German Bundesliga champions Munich club made their first purchase in January after the players' transfer market opened. The Bavarian team bought this year's newcomer club striker Jan Schlaudraff for a sum of 1 million euros, who will move to Bayern in the summer.
The 23-year-old player signed a three-year contract with the new team. In the German championship, he has scored six times in 15 matches. J.Schlaudraff will have the opportunity to play in the attack with Dutchman Roy Makaay, Peruvian Claudio Pizarro, and German Lukas Podolski.
"I will continue to play for Aachen team for another six months, so I will try to do everything in my power to keep my current team in the top league in Germany," said the new Bayern acquisition J.Schlaudraff. "I continue to strive to improve and gain international experience."
"From a sporting point of view, I think this chosen step is the right one," added J.Schlaudraff. "Of course, this is a very important step. But playing for the Munich team, I will have more opportunities to continue to improve and represent my national team."
Player scored a goal in the Germany Cup round of 16 on December 19, helping his team defeat the Bayern team 4-2 and eliminate one of the tournament favorites from further competition.
"We are very pleased that Jan decided to come to our team," said Bayern club president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. "He is one of the most promising talents in Germany. Our club offers him huge sports opportunities."
The financial details of the contract are not officially disclosed.
J.Schlaudraff started his professional football career at Gladbach, but last season, playing for Aachen team, he scored 11 goals in 29 matches, helping the team qualify for the Bundesliga. His debut in the German national team took place in October, when the Germans celebrated a 2-0 victory over Georgia.
Currently, the league newcomers, after 17 matches played, are in 13th place with 19 points, while the Bayern club is in 3rd place.
