Legendary Dutch club Ajax has extended a contract with 19-year-old Belgian talent Jan Vertonghen. The agreement with the Belgian has been extended until June 2011.
Jan Vertonghen arrived at Ajax two years ago from the Belgian team Germinal Beerschot in Antwerp. This season he has played three matches in the Dutch league for the Amsterdam club, two in the UEFA Cup tournament, and one in the Champions League.
A bright future is predicted for J. Vertonghen, who can play as a defender and midfielder. At the age of 19, he is already a member of the Belgian youth national team (up to age 21).
