"Serie A" club competing in the league quickly replaced Vincenzo Montella, who left for London's "Fulham" for six months - the capital's team rented a forward from a Spanish team until summer.
The 27-year-old player moved to the "Valencia" team at the beginning of the 2006/2007 season. Last season, representing Italy's "Empoli" club, he scored 19 goals and was one of the top scorers in the "Serie A" league.
However, this season he failed to establish himself in the "Eagles" team and played only three matches in the Spanish league, appearing twice in the UEFA Champions League.
Now the forward has returned to his homeland and joined the "Roma" club, which will have to pay 10 million euros to "Valencia" club before May 1 to permanently redeem the player.
"This opportunity is too big to waste," - said the footballer. - "In the 'Roma' club, I will show everything I can. I want to repay the head coach Luciano Spalletti for the trust he has placed in me."
F.Tavano has already met his current club in the Champions League this season, when in the final group matches "Valencia" lost 0-1 to the eleven from the Italian capital.
"Roma" finished in second place in Group D and advanced to the eighth-finals, where they will face the five-time consecutive French "Ligue" champion "Lyon" club, but according to UEFA rules, the forward will not be able to play in the tournament this season.
Playing for the "Empoli" team from 2001 to 2006, F.Tavano scored 43 goals in 141 matches against opponents' goalkeepers. The footballer began his career playing for such obscure lower league clubs as "Pisa" and "Rondinella."
