The young English football talent Aaron Lennon has signed a new five-and-a-half-year contract and will represent the club until the summer of 2012.
The 19-year-old right winger, who arrived in London from "Leeds" in 2005, showed excellent sporting form at the end of last season and was called up to the national team, where he successfully represented the country in the World Cup.
"Aaron is incredibly talented, and he still has everything ahead of him," rejoiced "Tottenham" coach Martin Jol. "He has become an example for all young players whom we want to attract here.
"A. Lennon took advantage of the opportunity and quickly became a key player in our team. We often forget how young he still is."
A. Lennon, who has dominated more than one old continent, also did not hide his joy: "I feel great fitting in at the club and enjoying playing football.
"There is a friendly atmosphere in the team, so we have all the conditions to perform successfully this season."
