The champion title of Lithuania will be defended next season by FBK, representing Lithuania in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers, starting preparations for new battles.

Speaking about the team's lineup, club president Gintaras Ugianskis told EuroFootball.com that there is plenty of time and no need to rush: "We hope to finalize the team composition by March 30th.

"There are always candidates for the team. We have considered both Lithuanians and foreigners, but the latter are never many, as we prefer to develop our own players."

G. Ugianskas also confirmed the recent information on our portal about the loan of Senegalese defender Pascaliu Mendy from Moscow's "Dynamo": "We have reached an agreement with the player, but we will decide on the contract only after seeing him on the field."

In the upcoming Commonwealth Cup tournament in Moscow, the jerseys of the Lithuanian champions will be worn by the famous London team's goalkeeper Aleksandro Hlebo's brother, Viacheslav. Whether to stay in Kaunas will also be decided by the footballer himself, who has the opportunity to return to Minsk's "MTZ-Ripo".

This week, "FBK Kaunas" will spend time in Latvia, where they are scheduled to play a friendly match in the evening against Riga's "Olimps," and a few days later against Liepaja's "Metalurgs" players.
