Former Brazilian national team defender Marcelinho, after six unsuccessful months playing in Turkey's league for "Trabzonspor" club, is returning back to Germany to represent the team occupying the 12th place in the Bundesliga.

The transfer fee is not officially announced, but the German media reveals that the "Wolfsburg" club could have paid around 2.75 million euros for the best player of the 2005 Bundesliga. Marcelinho signed a two and a half year contract with his new club and agreed to play until the summer of 2009.

The former star of Berlin's "Hertha" club moved to the Turkish "Trabzonspor" team last July, which paid a sum of 2.5 million euros for the Brazilian. He failed to adapt to the attacks in Turkey and decided to return to Germany.

Interest in the Brazilian was expressed by Dortmund's "Borussia" team. The determined player was considered one of the most important players of the "Hertha" club, but he was also disorderly and had quite a few problems off the field – repeatedly returning late to training after summer and Christmas holidays.

Therefore, "Wolfsburg", knowing the behavior of the Brazilian, included a condition in his contract that he can settle no more than 35 kilometers from the club's base.

"This is a fantastic day, as I just wanted to return to the Bundesliga," Marcelinho said at a press conference. "I am extremely happy to represent the 'Wolfsburg' team. I will do everything I can to ensure that 'Wolfsburg' achieves a higher place in the tournament table."

Meanwhile, "Wolfsburg" head coach Klaus Augenthaler, who recently extended his contract for two more years and will lead the German club until 2009, believes that Marcelinho will be able to regain his good form.

"We will give him the chance to play as successfully as he did representing the 'Hertha' team," said the 1990 World Champion K. Augenthaler.

The 31-year-old footballer represented the "Hertha" team from 2001 to 2006 and managed to score 65 goals in 155 matches. He represented the Brazilian national team only five times.
