The firmly leading in the championship "Lyon" club suffered an unexpected defeat as guests, losing to the mid-table team "Toulouse". Another defeat was experienced by the Parisian "P.S.G" club, which is gradually sinking to the bottom of the league table. This time, the capital team hosted the league newcomer "Valenciennes" and had to admit their superiority with a score of 1-2. Valenciennes took the lead in the 60th minute with a goal by Steve Savidan, and less than five minutes before the end of the match, Sebastien Roudet scored a second goal for "P.S.G". However, the Parisian club managed to score a goal in this match - the last minute of the match saw the team's most productive player, Portuguese Pedro Pauleta, score a consolation goal for his team from an eleven-meter penalty. The "Lens" club, currently in second position in the league, failed to take advantage of the opportunity to close the gap with the leaders, as they played a 1-1 draw at home against the also high-ranking "Lille" team. In this match, the visitors scored first in the 70th minute through Fernandes Michel Bastos, but in the 83rd minute, Jussie Ferreira managed to equalize the score and snatch at least one point for the "Lens" club. A similar result of 1-1 was recorded in the match with the newcomer "Lorient" as the former year's vice-champion "Bordeaux" club. However, Bordeaux fans should be pleased with this result, as in the 36th minute Rafik Saifi put "Lorient" ahead and only in the 86th minute did Bordeaux's attacking leader Marouane Chamakh manage to equalize the score. A significant victory was won by the struggling "Nantes" club, who defeated the "Nice" team at home with a minimal score of 1-0. The only goal was scored in the last minute of the match by former "Auxerre" forward Luigi Pieroni.
