Bayern Munich and the national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina defender Hasan Salihamidzic admitted that he will follow in the footsteps of his former teammate Roberto Kovac and move to Italy after the season to represent Turin's club.
The 30-year-old player's contract with Bayern expires in the summer, so, like last offseason with Croatian defender R. Kovac, he will be free to sign a contract with another club. It is believed that on Monday the footballer's agent Nusret Jashari met with Juventus sports director Alessio Secco in Turin and agreed on a four-year contract.
"Juventus convinced me and I will move to this team at the end of the season. I was fascinated by the opportunity to wear those jerseys. Even if Juventus does not play in Europe next season, the club remains one of the best on the continent and in the world. Everyone knows Juventus, they have an impressive history, and despite the fact that they are currently going through tough times, they have amazing champions in the team," the player told the German press about his choice.
"I don't think the absence from European competitions will last more than a year. In any case, next season I will play with fantastic players. This move will be a new challenge for me and I am confident that I will overcome it. Their offer was very good, convinced me immediately, and I am happy to have the opportunity to play in the Italian championship," assured H. Salihamidzic.
The versatile defender who can play in both flanks and even in defense in the Juventus club could replace Italy's national team midfielder Mauro Camoranesi, who last summer did not hide his desire to move to another team.
H. Salihamidzic moved to Bayern in 1998 from the Hamburg team, where he played for six seasons, and over more than eight years at the club with the Bavarians, he became the Bundesliga champion six times, won the national cup four times, and triumphed in the Champions League in 2001.
