The average club of the English Premier League has acquired former team defender David Dunn. The amount of the transfer fee is not disclosed, but it is believed to be around 2.2 million pounds.
The 27-year-old player had passed a medical examination at Bolton club, but after a few hours he received an offer from his former team and reconsidered.
"I wish him the best of luck," said Birmingham head coach Steve Bruce. "I hope that the change of teams will allow him to solve the injury problems that prevented us from seeing his talent in Birmingham."
Bolton team strategist Sam Allardyce did not hide his disappointment: "We wanted to give David a chance to revive his career, but if he didn't want to come, there's nothing we can do. He's a Blackburn boy and wants to play for his hometown team again."
In 2003, for 5.5 million pounds, D. Dunn transferred from Blackburn to Birmingham, but due to frequent injuries on the field, he only appeared in 53 matches.
