On Friday, the draw for the quarter-finals of the Spanish King's Cup (Copa del Rey) took place, dividing eight teams into four pairs. The draw turned out in a way that promises very interesting matches.
The favorites, Spanish and European champions "Barcelona," will face the strong-looking "Zaragoza."
Meanwhile, one of the most intriguing matchups should be the Seville derby, as the Spanish league leaders, "Sevilla," will face the second team in Seville, "Betis." The latter team has been performing poorly in the Spanish league this season - holding only the eighteenth place - but managed to eliminate the Royal Madrid team "Real" from the King's Cup.
The only team from the second division, "Valladolid," will face La Coruña's "Deportivo," while a pair of similar strength teams, Madrid's "Getafe" and Pamplona's "Osasuna," will compete in the fourth pair.
The first leg matches will be played on January 31st, with the return matches scheduled for February 28th.
