Team coach Rafael Benitez spoke about the new goals of the team, the fate of which will be decided in Saturday's match, when the "Reds" will host the London "Chelsea" club defending their championship title.

"If we manage to beat Chelsea, we will set ourselves a new goal - to take second place in the championship. Earlier we only considered getting into the top 4, but the season is long. If we can beat them, we can also fight for the title of vice champions," said R. Benitez.

"We have lost several times to the London "Arsenal" team in our stadium and we want to prove to some individuals that we can do more. If we beat Chelsea, we will show that we are a good team," said the coach.

Second place in the championship would not only give the "Liverpool" club the right to call themselves vice champions, but also allow them to participate in the Champions League group stage without qualifying tournaments.

Currently, the "Liverpool" team, with 43 points, is in third place in the English football championship and lags behind the "Chelsea" club, which is in a higher position, by 8 points (51). The "Arsenal" team in fourth place has 42 points, while the championship leader "Manchester United" club has 57 points.
