Lithuanian forward Marius Stankevičius scored his second goal of the season in the lower Italian "Serie B" league, as his precise strike helped "Brescia" team defeat the resistance of the underdog "Pescara" at the end of the match, while "Bologna" with Tomas Danilevičius ended a second consecutive game without goals.
The mid-table "Brescia" met the struggling "Pescara" at the bottom of the standings and broke through in the 40th minute with a header from Fabiano Santacroce, but in the middle of the second half the away team's defender Daniele Delli Carri equalized the score.
However, Marius Stankevičius had the final say - the Lithuanian goalkeeper's goal into the corner of the net three minutes before the end of the match secured the home team's victory, allowing "Brescia" to climb into the top ten.
"Bologna" team dropped to fifth position, unable to defeat "Crotone" away. The visitors lost their injured attacking leader Claudio Bellucci after just half an hour, and the closest to scoring were T. Danilevičius and "Crotone" forward Davide Dionigi.
Multiple Italian champion Turin "Juventus" remains in the leadership position, bouncing back from the previous round's failure and defeating 4-2, increasing the lead against "Napoli" club that played a draw against "Lecce" in a Southern derby. Frenchman David Trezeguet and Alessandro Del Piero, playing his 500th match for the team, scored for Turin, while Czech Pavel Nedvěd found the net twice.
