London team's wishes to acquire Edinburgh goalkeeper Craig Gordon quickly faded as soon as buyers learned the price of the purchase. "Fulham" offered the Scots 2.5 million pounds sterling, but received a negative response.
"C. Gordon is a good goalkeeper, but the price is approximately 10 million pounds sterling. For that amount, he should be made of gold," said "Fulham" team manager Chris Coleman.
However, "Hearts" coach Valdas Ivanauskas belittled "Fulham's" offer at the beginning of negotiations: "To me, two and a half million would be a very small amount."
Earlier, C. Gordon was also linked to other "Premier" League clubs - London's "Arsenal" and "Middlesbrough", but "Fulham" was the first team to establish a more serious contact with the "Hearts" team. C.
