Just a few hours after becoming a full-fledged member of Roma, the former Italy youth national team defender was loaned out to a club.
23-year-old P.Foggia had been on loan to "Lazio" since the beginning of the season, but the rights to him were acquired by the Italian capital city club as part of the deal for Italy national team defender Massimo Oddo's move to "Milan".
The player, who had not firmly established himself in the main team lineup, immediately requested to be loaned out, and although Genoa's "Sampdoria" was interested in him, the battle for the player's services for six months was won by "Reggina", a team struggling at the bottom of the "Serie A" standings.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday 30 years old finished formalities in Milan and signed a four-and-a-half year contract with "Milan", valid until the summer of 2011. Speaking during his presentation at a press conference, the world champion was delighted to return to the club where he started his professional career.
"I have wanted to return to Milan for quite some time, so I am very happy to be here. The club's trophy room is full of titles and I remember watching the team's victories when I was still in the youth team. Now I want to win trophies and win them with this team. I certainly have strong motivation for this new challenge," said M.Oddo.
The player, who reportedly wanted to receive a jersey with the number 30 as a reminder of the triumph with "Lazio" in the Rome derby with a score of 3-0, but due to their availability, received the number 44. He also said he is ready to debut in "Milan" already next weekend in the match against "Parma".
"I am at the coach's disposal. Just a few days ago I was training, so I am in good shape. The negotiation process was long and I always hoped it would be successful, but I am used to relaxing and being confident only when the signatures are finally put on paper," said the defender.
