The forward of London's club from the Netherlands, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, was fined £5000 (about 26,000 litas) by the Football Association.
The player was fined for defamatory facts mentioned in his autobiography, which he could not prove.
In his autobiography, J.F. Hasselbaink claims that after the 2004 Champions League quarter-final match, in which his club at the time from London defeated another team from the English capital, "the blues," illegal bonuses were paid.
The English Premier League investigated this incident, but found no evidence of Chelsea's guilt, and deemed Hasselbaink's claims unfounded.
"Such payments would have violated the championship's regulations," - said the football association in a press release.
However, it was not just a financial fine. The Football Association warned J.F. Hasselbaink to refrain from making similar statements in the future.
